This is a stunning, very rare vintage Clogau ring with a Sheffield hallmark and I think a V date mark, which would be 1995. At the centre of the design is a beautiful purple raised, bezel set 3mm Amethyst cabochon with a 9ct yellow gold Byzantine design either side. The band of the ring has a yellow gold weave design with a band of rose gold wrapped around it. The inner band is stamped with the Welsh Dragon and has the older hallmark with the CD in a Pentagon. There are lines on the inner band that aren’t so visible by eye but you can see them when zoomed in with the camera and with a loupe. I think they must have been created during production, as I really can’t see how you could make those sort of marks inside a ring band. The outer band of the ring that would be exposed to wear is in great vintage condition and whilst this ring is 30years old, there aren’t really any other signs of wear without looking through a loupe. It will come with the box and certificate booklet as shown.
